The Tesla tycoon will host “Saturday Night Live” for the first time on May 8, finally giving his comedic genius the spotlight it deserves.

The 49-year-old has previously tickled us with sophomoric 4/20 puns, countless stolen memes, gags about people dying on his conquest of Mars, and quips implying that a diver who rescued a schoolboy football team was a pedophile. But some humorless ingrates have impudently mocked the news of his SNL appearance. Comedian Josh Gondelman tweeted that it was “huge for guys still making ‘that’s what she said jokes who think they’d be great at hosting SNL,” while Rick and Morty writer Siobhan Thompson ribbed that Musk’s debut would thrill Anchorman aficionados. Other critics said Musk was the worst choice of host since Donald Trump. Ouch.
